Theodore Norman: Simone
An expressive serial work for solo guitar, this brief piece is both an elegy and homage. Composed following the death of the daughter of close friends of the composer, the music offers a window into the personality of Simone, who lived with leukemia for six years before her passing in 1979. The story behind the four-generations relationship between Norman and Simone's family is also included. The work uses the full range of the guitar and requires an advanced skill level.
